EXECUTIVE SUMMARY.

According to the World Health Organization, public health administration is a core concern in Africa. The WHO further reports that 47 African countries have an average ratio of 1.55 Health workers (Physicians, Nurses, and Midwives) per 1000 people. These statistics fall below the average WHO Threshold density of 4.45 workers per 1000 people needed to deliver essential health services and achieve universal health coverage. From the Epidemiological perspective, the USA National Center for Biotechnology Information reports that Sub-Saharan Africa remains the only major area in the world where the burden of infectious disease still outweighs the burden of non-communicable diseases and injuries. Moreover, the health system in Africa is plagued with systematic, professional, and systematic challenges that have worsened issues of child mortality rates, Maternal and reproductive health, communicable diseases, Neglected Tropical Diseases, and health financing among others. Systematically, the delivery of health services in Africa is plagued with a worker shortage, inefficient Management, and inadequate financial allocation to the health sector. It is worth noting that addressing the health challenge in Africa is part of the broader UN Sustainable Development Goals. The third goal of the SDG aspires to ensure health and well-being for all, including a bold commitment to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and other communicable diseases by 2030. It also aims to achieve universal health coverage, and provide access to safe and effective medicines and vaccines for all. To collectively activate this mission, there is the need for international partners to work with indigenous stakeholders and introduce innovations that would complement the efforts of governments in Africa and solve pertinent health challenges on the African continent. Social Entrepreneurs International has established PUBLIC HEALTH PROFESSIONALS WITHOUT BORDERS –GROUPS (PHPWB-WBG).
